The service manual say that its the ITB power pack BK , usually a harness problem .. bla bla . I had some problems with this machine in the past , but i always fix it , usually without the help of manual btw is 1 of the worse sm made by Ricoh , total CRAP.
I considered that on older machines 440 has to do with the main motor drive , so:
a) i cleaned everything related to the BK mechanism
b)cleaned the "potential sensor "
c)changed the drum, corona and developer
d)cleaned the ITB unit
e)changed the Powerpack
f)firmware upgrade
g)changed the Bk pump
Transfer belt has 200k
The machines starts like usually (ready mode) for ex. i print the counter . Before paper exits the machine gives the SC440 error .Half of the page is printed ok but the other half, gradually, gets from grey to white , as i look at the paper the left side is ok and on the right side i can barely see the print.Idk if matters the counter is over 2.5 mil XD
from SM
SC440 Image transfer power pack error: K
An interrupt checks the status of the power pack every 10 ms. This SC is issued if the
VBCU detects a short in the power pack for K, M, C, or Y.
• Transfer belt damaged, insulation damaged
• Insulation on high voltage cable damaged
• Another hot point inside the machine has damaged insulation
• Insulation around high-voltage power supply damaged
