Is it possible to reset total counter made copies for demo?
Is it possible, yes.
But, only a dishonest tech would do so. Looking to cheat a customer looking to buy a new machine, are you?
Look at the bright side. You have run the machine long enough to have ensured that most, if not all, of the early parts failures would have shown up and been corrected.
Wasn't using a hammer the recommended method on the last such request...
I've said before and I'll say again that setting the count to zero for any reason is unethical. If you buy a new car that had a few demo drives on it wouldn't you like to know that? I would. If I found out that I had bought a unit that was sold as new that wasn't exactly new there would be issues, possibly legal action.
I don't think you'll find too many folks in the know to be forthcoming with such a how-to.
Flash memory card and take another backup nvram from mp 1600 (5-824), download your own machine (5-825). Save again after the machine's own serial number (5-811)
Good work

That shouldn't work because the nv-ram datau upload/download function doesn't affect the data for the total counter. You have to erase the whole NV-Ram with an external chip programmer wich does usually only fit for the "IC-type" looking NV-Rams.
Ynd yes, this is indeed dishonest if you do this without the agreement of the customer. But I know that some customers are asking for this, ususally because it's easier to supervise the own printout volume on second hands machines with service contracts. If you do so it is important that the paper works are containing this information including the original counter.
