    Ricoh MPC3000 Drum unit

    HI all,

I was wondering if you can use a Ricoh MPC3000 drum unit in a MPC2800 I know about shaving the connector on the angle
But do I need to change any wires in the front connector?

I'm truly exhausted by this topic
There have been so many discussions on this.
The latest and greatest was about a month ago, where there was even a fully illustrated chart uploaded, showing what fits what, and what needs to be done to each unit etc. I'm not linking it here, but someone probably will. Even without the amazing chart, the info is readily available here.
And Finally, no, you can't use a black C3000 PCU, but you CAN use a C2800 black PCU and modify it: shave connector / swap 2 wires

Wrong you can use a Black MPC3000 pcu in the MPC2800 but only in the color slots all you need to do is Shave the corner off the connector no need to swap any wires unless you want to put it into the mpc2800s black slot. Oh and the MPC3000 blk PCU is cheaper than the 2800s

let's talk in part number here.... MPC3000 has B223-2042 blk drum and can be inserted into the MPC2800 (D029 2251) color drum? is this correct?

No the New pn is B224-2042 that fits but the OLD one B223-2042 dosnt you can tell if its a new type mpc3000 if it as 2 screws in the cover instead of one screw that covers the drum shaft oh and of course the ch roller assy on B224 looks like the D029 ones as well.

you might have to leave the original BLK PCU cover on the front but hey it still works.

Ahh...now I see why I was wrong. I've not dealt with the new pcu's in this scenario yet. Thanks for clarifying

Great, this is awesome. Thanks for the detailed info on the pcu mod. I wonder how much do we save on these B224 drums vs the D029 black drum.

                      Re: Ricoh MPC3000 Drum unit

Has anyone collected any information about how long mpc2000 drums(B224-2042) have lasted in mpc3502 machine. I made my first mod for this about 5 months ago and the customer has taken already 55k prints and going strong. Just wondering if given enough time, it would be possible to see if there is any point doing this modification to mpc3502, because the "original" spare parts has a lot longer pm yield as the mod part.
