    Ricoh 2022sp skew image

This is a new out of the box Ricoh 2022sp, (yes, that the model number), image on copy off the glass skewed from all trays, like there is no registration stop or buckle, (but there is), I tried all the setting adjustments through the sp mode, didn't help the skew, front leading edge is smaller then rear leading edge. I can change sp setting for registration and buckle, they change but not the skew, any idea?

    Are internal test pages straight?
Yes? Then obviously something is out of alignment in the optics.

    Question:
How is it "new"out of the box, when it's a 8-10 year old unit?

If the front leading edge is smaller then rear leading edge, it is likely that the optics are out of alignment, as there are no conditions relating to paper feed or transport could cause this to happen that I'm aware of. The moving carriages that carry the lamp and mirrors could be out of alignment or the mirrors might not be sitting square in their mounts (hopefully), or the frame might be bent (hopefully not).
Could be that's why they never took it out of the box back in the day, though.
