problem with ricoh mp6501(firm ware)

hi all

please help me about this product . i want some one Explaine me the procedure how download new soft warefor mp ricoh mpc6501 with details

1- the data i need

2- the volum for sd card

3- if i download the firm ware how i send to sd card and i must make the folder and renaim it (roomdata) or what?

please help me and ansoer for this qustion herry ?

To download firmware you need an account on my-ricoh.com.

Take an SD-Card (<1GB) and create a folder called ROMDATA in the root. Put the firmware files in that folder.

Place the SC-Card in the second slot and switch the machine on and select which parts you want to upgrade.

mu qustion is after i dowon load the soft ware from rioch by my acount the data is copressed wirh winrar . i exetract the data and send it the the roomdata or live it ?

and is thire any diffrent between 1G and 2G ?

Yes, of course you have to unzip the files, and by my calculations, the difference between 1Gb and 2Gb is approx. 1Gb!

The firmware files will be self-extracting executables, you can run an unzip program (best use 7zip for this) on them or run them one by one. Get an SD card, format it and create the folder "romdata" and inside add each firmware you downloaded. You should have what looks like:

DXXXXXXXX.exe or DXXXXXXXX.fwu

RDXXXXXXX.doc

readme.txt

You can also update the firmware by the webinterface.

So one stupid question...if I (random dude working used machines with for use parts) send a request on my-ricoh.com it will be denied emediately...I suppose I'd have to pay to Ricoh for software?

You will have to be a certified Ricoh dealer. If that's the case access to all documentation and firmware is free.

download latest firmware from ricoh support or from my ricoh.com ,sd card 1 gb or 2 gb no problem u can use any.now prepare sd card for update the machine create folder in this way romdata ,inside create any folder with the product name of the machine ,in that folder copy the firmware ,like romdata _D046_ D046XXXXfwu ,d046 is product code and fwu file is firmware.then put sd in service slot 2 of the machine and turn on the machine ,machine will boot from sd card and will show u current and latest firmware in the sd card,update and follow the instructions on machine panel.
