The reason that sandman is recommending that you have a professional do the work, is that there are a lot of little things that are not in the manual. Let me give you a couple of examples:

    1) Let's say you remove the imaging unit, then get distracted doing something else. It sits on the table for 4 or 5 hours. You put it back in, and experience light prints. The photoconductor is light sensitive, and can light shock if left in direct light too long. Is it in the manual? No. Does it make a difference? Sure. You can ruin a new drum in as little as 1 hour depending on the light conditions.

    2) Let's say to remove this same imaging unit and tip it a little to one side. Some gray stuff spills on your shoes. You think "I can clean that up" and vacuum up the gray stuff. A week later you notice that your copies and prints are getting darker, and darker, and darker. There is a very precise amount of that gray stuff: developer. When there is not enough, the difference in volume will automatically be filled in with toner. What you don't know is that the proportion of toner to developer is critical, and if it's too rich with toner you'll get dark copies? Is it in the manual? No. Does it make a difference? Sure. Once the developer is unbalanced you must vacuum out and replace all the developer. It's the only way to restore the balance.

The thing that we learn in this business is that a few moments of carelessness can cost a lot. That's what the $150 per hour is buying: experience. You won't find that in a manual. That being said, go ahead. Design yourself a copier. And when it needs fixing call one of us.
    =^..^=
There is also the danger of getting hit by a meteorite while going out your mailbox to get the package! Very dangerous indeed better Qualitek it's worth a few extra hundred bucks! Lol
