Memory Question on my Ricoh 3025

When I run a 58 page double sided set and I do more than 1 set of copies, the machine errors out at 43 pages saying that it has run out of memory.

    Question 1: Why.

Question 2: How do I find out how much memory the machine has and how much it can hold.

Question 3: Assuming that I need to buy more memory, do you have some suggestions on where to purchase the needed memory.

Are you printing directly to the device or are you spooling on the PC first? If the former the devices memory is very limited and probably isn't large enough to hold this file. (Remember, if the file is 10Mb, the RAW data may be 100Mb; and if your device only has 128Mb of memory, by printing 2x 100Mb you will end up 72Mb over).

If the latter, try deleting old printer drivers from the spool. If you find you cannot (as it may say the printer is in use), then you can load up Process Explorer, find the spool service and end the specific driver running.

Goto User Tools (123 button) -> Printer Features -> List / Test Print -> Configuration Page

Memory installed is usually top right. See http://support.ricoh.com/bb_v1oi/pub...0/B2096500.pdf for accessing User Tools and for Printer Features.

Ensure you are setting up the driver to Ricoh recommendations. https://ricoh.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ricoh.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=110909

As stated before, printing directly to the device is very limiting.

I would assume the original poster is trying to make double sided copies using the document feeder.
Does the copier have a HDD installed?

            >ruben; I'm just using it as a copier, using the document feeder and 2 sided masters. it works fine when I'm making just one set of copies but errors out when I try to make more than one set. I would love to be able to print to it right from my computer...
And the button sequence to find and print the configuration is not the same as on my Aficio 3025. When I go to user tools area, there are the following selections: System Settings, Copier/Document Server Features, Espanol, Inquiry & Counter. I believe that I have gone thru all of these and didn't find one that would print a configuration page.

As far as I know there isn't a hard drive in the machine.

Why not call "phil the copy guy"? He's apparently our new Cliff Claven, and will fix anything over the phone for free.
Or how about tear it down yourself to improve it's performance? after-all, you're the mechanical engineer, and this is a direct quote from you:
"By the way, I would have no problem in designing one of these copiers, in fact I think that it would be fun." (Found here:
              http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/ri...ks-copies.html )

I'm tapping out because I certainly can't build one from scratch. I'm just a chump technician. what would I know???
