[Jamming] LP128n "Jams" when printing from Tray 1

I have a Lanier LP128n that throws a "Remove Misfeed from Internal Path" error anytime I try and print from Tray 1. It doesn't appear to even try and pull any paper from the tray, and there is no jam in the "Internal Path". I have checked to make sure the Tray settings are all set to 8 1/2 x 11 and the tray guides are all tight. The pickup roller looks brand new, and is not smooth.

I found a second LP128n in storage that has the same behavior. I can print from the bypass tray on both without issue. It doesn't appear to even try and pick up the paper from Tray 1.

Any ideas? Is there somewhere I can download the latest firmware to see if that resolves the issue?

You might try taking all the paper out of tray 1, tossing it in the bin, and replacing it with paper out of a freshly opened ream. Paper doesn't do well if it has been out of the ream wrapper for a while, especially if you don't flip it over from time to time and you load paper before the tray is completely empty.

Oh, one other thing - updating the firmware is likely to be an insane waste of time until you take care of the simple stuff like taking care of the paper.

I've not worked on one of these boxes, but it would seem to me that if the paper is not even fed, the first thing to look at would be the feed clutch -especially if the other feed station is working fine.
