This could be a couple of things.

Remove the paper tray completely. Make sure the little green clips that stop the back of the paper tray from sliding out are not missing. Make sure the rear of the paper tray is pushed in correctly and locked into place with the green clips, the tray should be at it's shortest setting unless you are using odd paper sizes. In a pinch, you can use adhesive tape down the sides of the tray if the green clips are missing.

If that doesn't work, turn off the machine and remove power/network/usb cables. Remove the toner cartridge and paper tray and the little paper tray protector cover at the rear of the machine. Tilt the machine on its back and look to the right of the main feed roller, you should see two black plastic feeler levers. Check that these can move freely and have not popped out of their places. Using some canned air or similar, remove any dust/lint/cruft from this area. While you are there, check that the main feed roller and it's axle are aligned correctly with one another.

If all looks ok, turn the machine back upright. Reinsert the toner cartridge and paper tray, check that the paper is loaded correctly and reinstall your cables and the little paper tray cover thingie on the back.

If none of this works, call a ricoh tech.
