    New style MP C4500 PCU's

With the new style PCU's, can the black unit be modified to use as a color unit like the old style ones?

If you are referring to the B2242042 the answer is yes. Just have to remove the pin and shave the rear RJ45 like before. I haven't had any issues. Ricoh's official bulletin was that they changed the gap between the pcu and charge roller and the angle of the lube apply blade to lessen charge roller contamination.

definitely working, one thing to note if it hasn't been mentioned is that the front covers on the new units are different and not interchangeable with the old. hopefully the bigger "gap" onthe charge roller will make a difference.
