    Laserfiche Cloud from Ricoh

Besides a current MFP, what are the prerequisites to successfully scan into Laserfiche Cloud, a SaaS (Software as a Service) Document Management Archive/Retrieval solution?

I assume you have to program a Network path with User Name and Password. Are there any connector or proprietary software required?

Does a dealer who employs technicians who are not high tech savy just need to sell licenses and not worry about any hardware or software support?

Is the Laserfiche Cloud from Ricoh really Laserfiche Rio software hosted on a Ricoh server?

Haven't seen or heard of this app on the Ricoh side of life. It could be an app that runs on the Java platform though.

Laserfiche currently does not offer a cloud solution. What you may find is they are using Laserfiche web access which is the web client front end to the Laserfiche software. This comes as part of the Rio licensing model.

The piece of software which connects the MFP to Laserfiche is called Import Agent which monitors a scanned folder for incoming images. The other option of course is to use ecopy with the Laserfiche connector.

My advise would be to find out the path to the Laserfiche server using an FTP link. Make the MFP scan to this FTP destination over the internet and then point the Import Agent Configuration utility at this scans folder thus scanning directly into Laserfiche from the user's point of view. (FYI - The FTP destination will have to be located somewhere where the Laserfiche IA can access it using a UNC network path, on the same physical network basically as the Laserfiche server).

      Hope this helps!
