Hi, The system informed no toner so we changed it with a brand new original toner and since then we are getting " toner cartridge setting error " Toner cartridge not set properly "Yellow" I have removed the toner and placed it back and the error is still there we have also restarted the machine to check if it helps but to no use. Any help to resolve this will be appreciated as we are closing down the business and are not in a position to invest in a new photocopier. Thanks in advance.

Re: Ricoh 1232c toner cartridge setting error
The developer unit could have expired. Does the machine have a finisher on it? If so, remove it, make sure the machine is off and take the two screws out of the side door and make sure the yellow developer unit connector is set correctly. If not, new dev unit time. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Re: Ricoh 1232c toner cartridge setting error
I make one copy in one color mode for Cyan, Yellow (or red) and Magenta. If any of those colors show light or blank areas, that color developer is done and needs to be replaced. If one of the colors is bad, the other two are likely to fail as well in the near future, so I replace them as well..
(The color yellow is pretty light, so yellow developer defects can be hard to see, but as Red=Yellow+Magenta, running a one color red print will help show a problem with the yellow developer if magenta is in good shape.)Comment

Re: Ricoh 1232c toner cartridge setting error
Hi Thanks for the reply, after playing with the pins I have been able to remove the" toner cartridge setting error " but it still shows as replace toner when the toner is new and full. Is there a way to reset the toner chip so that its identified as a new toner ? Thanks in advance.Comment

No, unfortunately there isn't. I think you'd be best just replacing the development unit and toner cartridge as a pair. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Re: Ricoh 1232c toner cartridge setting error
Thanks running 7923 removed the message and we are able to print but the yellow toner is not being used, our company logo is yellow in color and its hardly visible when we are printing infact half logo is missing.
I know with the expert advise given here we should be able to fix this. Thanks in advance.Comment
