I have a MP C 3500 that recently began to lose connection with network. Customer would send print job and job would sit in cue until it gave error indicator. At this time copier would show in gray in devices and printers window. The lights on the NIC are showing an active connection and occasionally machine will print. Trying to determine if this machine or network issue.

Try to eliminate the network side first before you determine if the machine is at fault. Is the machine on DHCP or static IP? Have you tried pinging the current IP to see if you get a response? Also, try pinging without the machine connected to the network, to see if there is another device on the same IP. If all the settings are correct, work back from the machine starting with the network cable; swap and replace, then try another network port. Finally check with a direct cross-over to a single un-networked machine, like a laptop, and try printing from there.
If you can print direct and there is no IP conflict then their network is at fault. If you can't print direct then you need to replace the NIC.
