MPC2800 SC141 after work on the fusing unit

Any hints? The optics are clean and I disconnected and reconnected all the connectors, to no avail. Before the fusing-related work, all was fine. Now, all of a sudden, I get SC141. The documentation is scarce, beyond the usual "replace boards" and "reconnect all connectors".

    Cheers!

Thanks for the tip. Did everything of the above, except relaxing the belt.

As I've ordered the SBU and BCU boards yesterday, I'll wait until then, but if everything else fails, then I'll remember to check the belt.

      Thanks.

Yes, and the light turns on accordingly.

Heh...I made mistake today and powered on machine after cleaning optics with only glass on and no white plate on top...gave me sc 101 ofc
I recall that some MP 35/45 machines gave me "Functional problem..." when powering them...just because?!?!
Scanner assembly didn't move and lamp didn't power on,just turn off and on and it's ok.
My money is on Belt as Blade mentioned.
Gears, springs, clutches, sliders, connectors and electronics...who on earth can tell what's wrong with it?

I may be way off, but check the upper right door switch. Right next to the fuser drive. Also make sure the thermistors are in good nick, easily bent / snapped which may cause odd faults.

                  1. Black level detection error - Wire harness behind SBU ground plate was pinched
                  2. Black level detection error - check harness connections to SBU
                  3. Black level detection error - replace SBU

Have you tried swopping the fusing unit with a known working one - just to check?

Problem solved by replacing the SBU.

Why it got damaged by repairing the fusing unit, beats the hell out of me.

                      Thanks all for the input!
