    [Misc] MPC 7501 advice/thoughts

    Hi all,

I have a few of these mcs out in the field (from new) and they have been ok thus far, although the waste toner and filters need doing on every visit.

I have one of said machines to refurbish (with no history), i have noticed warped fuser panels, rust on the fuser panels and the machine has done 1m copies.

Is there anything i should look out for when refurbing this mc?
Networking skills are advantageous but use of a 3m vacuum cleaner is essential

These are very labour intensive machines. They spill a lot of toner in the machine and need a lot of maintenance. They run fine if you do PM at the right moment and keep them clean.

If they didn't grease the fuser gears when and if they maintenanced it (The rust is an indicator of this) I would definitely consider replacing at least the fuser gears with one ways and bushing inside of them. I've also seen the lift motor under the front cover and the associated gear cluster torn up because of this. Bad enough a gear ate into the plate. If you've worked on them before the rest should be pretty straight forward.

Hi also at the paper exit unit ,just after he fuser, check the decurling rollers input/drive bearings as these can collapse and cause a build up of rust as well under the fuser drive side..
