    Savin 2515

I picked up a new customer today with this copier and it needs a fuser rebuild and drum unit. Where is there a good place to buy and am I better off replacing the fuser assly. or rebuilding? Anything need to be adjusted after replacing the drum? We usually only work on Canon and Kyocera but we are looking to expand our customer base for service revenue. Any dealers out there that would assist in getting us support if needed? We could give the same for Canon or Brother?
    Thanks in advance.

Cheaper to rebuild the fuser. Ricoh heat rollers don't last as long as some generic.
Tried to rebuild a drum unit and it lasted 10K. Now I am out the $95.00 for the kit and have to replace it anyway for $120.00
Run sp 2801 to seet up the Drum unit.
Remove the toner hopper before setting up drum unit, or it won't set up right.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

What is sp 2801 and how do I do it? Sorry but I don't have any experience with simulation modes on these.

Allow me to take you back in time to one of your very own replies to a post from this past summer. I might suggest that Paul is someone you may want to make amends with. Judging from what I'm reading in this thread. He's a very generous and helpful fella when treated in kind, and regardless of that, the reply was uncalled for.

And without a manual you're not going to get any either.

Sorry if you are offended but every thread I have viewed you replied without any suggestions just your ad for manuals. I thought this forum was for exchange of ideas for problems technicicians are having with copiers that they might not have much experience with. I help with Canon and someone else helps with different brand. I don't visit this forum too often but if I see a post with someone having a problem with a copier that I am familiar with I will give a suggestion that may help that person. Can you point to a post you made in the Canon or Kyocera forums that you gave someone free advice that would get them out of a jam? Everytime I see your post I feel like you are just here to sell your wares. I have no objection to you earning a living selling manuals but I think it should be the for sale forum only. I don't think the moderators would like it if I start selling Canon parts in the Canon forum.

He may very well be a great guy but I just checked a few of his post and I see nothing that helped answer the question being asked. As a matter of fact here is one of his responses.

I am also curious why would you go and check out all my post? Are you the forum Nanny?
I should also add that my reply to that post also gave him a possible solution to a problem that I came across.

Service mode 2801. Service mode same as all Ricoh product.

I could tell you, but then I would have to kill you

Recommend buying the manual so you will always have the information on hand.

I have no problem buying manuals. I ususlly don't work on anything other than Canon, Kyocera, Brother and HP but one of my customers recommended a lawyer in his building to give us a call. He told us he would usually wait for 2-3 days before someone would show up so we told him we would look at it. The problem turned out to be an out of position picker finger so no manual would be needed for that type of problem. He also needs a drum and fuser rebuild so I was just asking if there is anything special that needs to be done after replacing the drum. On a Canon there is a simple simulation you run and if asked I would just simply tell you how to perform it. In the perfect world we would all like to have every manual so we could fix anything, but as anyone with more than a few years experience knows the manuals are not needed for probably 90% of the service calls.

service mode on Ricoh/lanier/gestetner/savin is clear mode (yellow key) 1 0 7 hold stop key (red one) from there i would recommend a manual to refer to for specific sp's to do when pming the machine. It was just xmas so im still in the giving mood lol.
