As my mind reading equipment is currently not working I have to advise you that when you post to a forum for fault finding suggestions and answers you really need to be SPECIFIC about the problem you are having, however from my own personal experience of these machines I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark that it's a fuser error code (SC54x/55x)? If so then the only solution is to either:-

1/ Buy a brand new fuser from Ricoh at whatever princely sum they are demanding for it in your particular part of the world.

2/ Trick the new fuser detection mechanism by either using a replacement quick-blow fuse (FYI not available from Ricoh because they really, really, really want to sell you a complete fuser unit) or some sort of switch arrangement. I'll leave you to devise your own method of doing this because frankly I don't want any grief from anybody who attempts this and f*cks it up.

3/ Restore the machine from a copy of the NVRAM data you made before it threw the fuser code. You did make a backup of the NVRAM data right??

At least give us the error code or something so we can try to help, please.
I also dislike problems that go away with no rhyme or reason before I can fix them.

I dont know about other countries... but we have the low-blow fuses available for installation in refurbed fusers. I have one on my desk, the part number is M026-4371.

Anyone got a pic where this fuse is located. I recall that we needed to order a new fuser and take a close look with 3 people not finding that goddamn fuse
