    Ricoh Aficio MP 5001

    Hello,

I have a Ricoh Aficio MP 5001, and need to restore this printer to factory default, and make sure any and all client information has been erased. I searched the forum for past posts on this subject but found nothing on this subject. Is there an SP mode I can get into and erase the information? If so how do I enter that mode. Any help on this topic is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Reformat HDD in service mode.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Yes, but how do I get into service mode, I am not a printer tech. The company I work for we deal with leased equipment, and the knowledge base they have is..... very lack luster.

Get a tech out to do it we will not tell any old clown(End User) how to enter service mode.

Cute, I did not know you spoke for the entire Copytechnet community.

Just google Ricoh SP mode..... you should be shown a link to a CTN post or 2 about the subject. You need to be careful what you screw around with in service mode. It is possible to turn the machine into a boat anchor.

Thank you, I know where I am heading once I am in SP mode, this is not my first Ricoh I have dealt with, and apparently 1-0-7 is universal for all Ricoh , only time I have ever turned a printer into a "boat anchor" is when I cannot erase any and all client data and have to pull the HDD to be shredded.
