MP2000L2 SC120 when SCANNING from GLASS only

    Hi all,

I've been off on a lovely break and enjoyed every minute of it, however I was forced to come back to work as bills don't understand the concept of time off. Here's my latest head scratcher.

Machine MP2000L2 will copy off the glass without any issue but if I try a scan from the glass the scanner assy moves maybe 2 inches, jams like it hits an obstruction then throws an SC120. This is not an intermittent fault, every scan from the glass will have the exact same result, ADF copy\scans are also fine. I haven't tried anything too serious yet as I don't believe this to be a mechanical fault, I have tried a scanner reset and updated to the latest firmware. All to no avail. Any ideas??

    Cheers
    J

Dunno why it's upside down, you get the idea anyway.

SC 120 Scanner home position error 1
The scanner home position sensor does not detect the off condition during initialization or copying.

      • Scanner home position sensor defective
      • Scanner drive motor defective
      • Scanner home position sensor connector defective
      • Scanner drive motor connector defective
      • BICU board defective

Try swapping over the home position sensor and motor with a functioning machine, if one of them don't work then it may be a board issue. Most likely, the sensor is dirty/defective.

Cheers I have the manual too, did you watch the vid? This is an out of the box machine, 300 pages only. Everything checks out through input/output mode. Got BICU on order. Will update next week.

Have you cleaning the sensor on the left under the glass?
