    R-2045eSP

    copier has print/scan/fax. fax light stays red majority of the time. when pressing fax button the following message comes up: check whether there are any network problems; below message is the folowing
    [15-03]; tried clearing out all fax memory; didn't work. any ideas???

    I'm assuming that all functions are otherwise ok, it's just that you need to power the machine off/on to clear the error?
    I've seen this on 2 or 3 occasions on later models - never the 2045E generation. I've never discovered the actual cause. I solved it by turning off "display network errors" with user parameter switch 21 Bit 6. (0=on /1=off), and never had it return.
    This switch shows as "not used" on this model, and I don't see an alternative for it, but it may be worth a try.

      It is complaining because somewhere in time past it was configured for fax to email


      Try this:

      "Check whether there are any network problems."
      [15-03]
      No machine e-mail address is programmed.
      • In [System Settings], under [File Transfer], check that the machine e-mail address is correctly programmed. You can also use the Web Image Monitor for confirmation. See the Web Image Monitor's Help.
      • Contact the network administrator.
