Lanier 5255 stops when doing multiple copies

I don't know if anyone has posted this problem before, but I came across it a few weeks ago.
The copier will stop, jam sign & spanner sign lits up, the panel goes blank. The power is still on, but I had to turn off to reset it. This problems only occurs if more than 30 continuos copies are made.
Anyone ever came across similiar problems?

had a similar problem a while back and it turned out to be a problem with the sorter main board. disconnect the sorter and run the machine but watch out as the paper could go everywhere

It could be almost anything. First troubleshooting step is to look at the service code history and see if there is anything there. Then remove and reseat all connectors on all the boards in the back. Strange problems are often caused by a poorly seated connector. Next, unplug all accessories and non-essential components and run copies. Plug in one thing at a time until you have the issue occur. At this point you, at least, know where to look.

I think I had this once before also, and it was a finisher board.
But Doc is right, sometimes SC are logged and dont show on the display. Check the history.

enter service mode and select 5990/4 logging data,
print out list and check sc history.

Hellow, i think that the problem is in the stapler unit , bad contact or otherwise in the cable that drives the stapler unit , this is the fat wire who also come out when you opens the finisher and the stapler section

I checked the SC History. The last 3 were SC981-00, 302-02, 320-00. The problem will only appears when doing about 70-100 copies continuosly. Tried reconnecting all the connectors, but it's still the same. Got any new ideas guys?

A couple of things to consider....

Checkout SP4911 and the LEDs on the BICU when the problem occurs.
