Curious about life on midrange colour parts

    Hey all,

Just wondering what type of life everyone is getting out of their (in particular) MPC5501 and MPC5502 parts.

For example I have found you can leave the Black PCU and Dev in a C5501 for over 500K and the copy quality is as great as the day it was first turned on at the customer site. Also the fuser life on these devices is excellent, they just seem to keep going and going.

On the C5502 for example, the fusers have gone completely backwards, have had to replace them constantly but it's pretty easy using a SPC830 kit or that doesn't really worry me.

Is everyone else around the world getting great reliability out of these devices? If they stay as reliable as the C5501 model, we wont be in a job for much longer, they have designed a extremely great device.

    Feedback will be great.....

Have only one C4502 out but its high volume. So far the bk PCU died at only 80K. kept getting wax spots built up on the drum. Cleaning them off was good for a day or two. Wax bar had lots of toner impregnated on its surface. Don't have a lot of color experiance but replaced the Bk pcu and all is well. I very concerned about all the bad I've heard about these fusers.
