    J053 on Ricoh MPC3000 / MPC2500 - ARDF 3000

    Hi.

I'we just spent 3 hours trying to find the cause of a paperjam that occurs after 1- 10 original feeds.
The jam code j053 is not listed in my Ricoh service manual from 2011.
I googled and found some people have the same kind of faults with MPC 4500 and DF3010.

Anyway I thought i'd share my findinds with you guys.
After cleaning every sensor i could find in the ARDF and all the rollers and feed/pickup/sep rollers.. I even tried to change the stepper motor that runs teh lower part of the transport rollers and exit rollers.
I was sure this was it, because the sheets of paper stopped just before leaving the ARDF completely. There was only 3-5 cm (1-2inches) before the sheet had left te ARDF and could be ruled out.

But eventually i noticed there where something happening just before the misfeed occured, in the feed-reverse-feedcycle it seemed to skip a beat, the reverse feed. And so i found the clutch that was faulty.
In my case it was the feed clutch thats on the same shaft as the pickup-roller and feed-belt.

    Hope this helps.

    It's a register sensor.
    Try to change this code:
    B802_2222 guide open/close
    B802_3651 guide exit upper
    Good luck

another thing that can cause this is the one way bearing in the hub for the feed belt slipping on the shaft. The shaft gets shiny like a mirror and slips sometimes instead of grabbing the shaft. Buff the shaft to get rid of the shiny and that will cure it.

I think that some of us are missing the point here. The poster has stated that he had tried several things to solve the issue. He has SOLVED the problem by replacing the clutch.
It was merely for information purposes.

I sir realize this, and anybody else that opens this thread to look for solutions now will have more answers in case that clutch doesn't fix theirs. Thank you for your concern.

yup all my money is on the DF clutch.. I don't know where Ricoh get the clutches from? They slipped around 80K or sometimes at 40K on it.
