Ricoh 3235c Series Consumables Compatibility With a Ricoh CL7200 (G130)?

Hi guy's sorry to ask this one but I have searched the site high & low but I am unable to find a definitive answer to this one. I have been working with the Ricoh 3235c series machines for years but recently had a Ricoh CL7200 dumped on my patch which I have never worked on. Anyways had the usual colour reg issues (SC-285) so stripped & cleaned the TX unit/rollers and replaced the TX belt & cleaning unit with 3235c series parts that where on the car.

Performed line adjustment SP5993-002 = NG and line adjustment result =070707. Double check my work on TX unit is good. Figure worn K,Y,M dev as over life and or possible defective PCU.

I have a bunch of new PCU's and developer units for the 3235c series machines back at the office, could anyone please confirm or disconfirm that these copier consumables will/will not work in the CL7200 machine and any mods required to do so. It has been implied that they will indeed work but that i will need to reset the PM counter manually SP7804.

the parts will work. however, you will not have auto initialize. you'd need that especially for the developer. i can not find anywhere in the manual where you can manually initialize.

Excellent point NOS, I have found TD Sensor Initialisation SP 3005-001 to 004 in the CL7200 SM so that should do it. The office in their impatience had sent out our trainee today to fit the parts, poor guy has never come across these and just threw the parts on. He has said that the machine just came up with "development unit not set" on the display, would this clear once SP 3005 has been performed or is this pointing to the connector block wiring being slightly different between the two machines perhaps? I am currently away on a course for the week and as such unable to actually go into the customer and meter the consumables to check for physical differences between them.

Resetting the PM counter will do the auto-initialise. You will also need to swap the faceplates of the PCUs with the printer versions.

Thanks rthonpm. The please set Dev unit error on the display is that normal with fitting the 3235c Dev units in these machines or is it more likely one of the Dev units just wasn't sitting correctly? As far as I'm aware they had not been installed one at a time just throw in together.

You may want to check the supply item developer unit and the standard B180 unit to see if there's any difference on the face plates or rear of the units. Generally the printer versions have an extra fuse or a detection pin somewhere on them since they're considered consumables. I haven't seen one of these in a few years so I can't really give you an off my head location to look.
