    Acessing sp modes mpc5000

    GUYS HOPE YOUR ALL WELL!!

    please assist on an issue I'm not able to access Sp modes in an MPC5000,it just beeps and nothing happens,

    I'm visiting the client tomorrow to upgrade firmware,is this the right direction?please help!

    Sounds like the customer has enabled service mode lock, it's in Administrator Tools in System Settings.
    It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        TonerMunkeh is probably correct on this one, but I have an old 3245C that behaves this way almost every time I visit with both SP mode and UT. I simply restart the system and it's all good. While firmware might solve the issue, it's one of those machines that's always worked so well otherwise, that I haven't bothered to mess with it.

          It may be trying to spool a non existent print job - unplug LAN cable and restart machine.

          I unplug the lan when working on machines often anyway, print jobs just queue up and the machine can churn through them when you are done.
