    [Jamming] Lanier 5222...

I've got a couple of quick questions.

We have a Lanier 5222 that was jamming continuously so we quit using it. Now we're moving offices and I'm wondering if it's worth saving? Also, does this thing have a hard drive in it that I need to be concerned about wiping before I take it to the electronic recycler?

Thanks for any help, there's lots of smart people at this forum!

I wouldn't spend a nickel on that old box, It's very obsolete. While it's impossible to know the cause because we have no idea what type of jamming - it could be anything from a $5 seperation pad to a complete fuser rebuild, in the several hundred $$ range. Regardless of that, I'm sure it's in need of a few things.
As for the hard drive - if it had the print and/or scan feature, then probably 'yes'. If not, then 'no'
If you're concerned, remove the back panel and then remove the controller board on the top right (6-8 screws on a bracket). If there's a Hard drive, you'll now see it and be able to remove it easily

Fantastic, thank you so much, exactly the info I needed.

Does anyone want this thing for parts, I think we have about 4 more in the same series. Located in northwestern NC.

I just filled out my profile, I'm in Boone, NC.

I'll probably get rid of it unless I hear from someone, we are moving locations and I don't want to take it with us!

Get it on ebay for parts, someone will always want one.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

            Hit it.
