    aficio 3800 black toner problem

recently I got a used aficio 3800c. After I print about 700 copies I get the message ADD BLACK TONER. the toner is full. I cleaned up the line that transfers the toner from the container to the dram but the same problem. It seems not to take any tonner. Does anyone has an idea how to solve this problem ?

Change the black toner pump 99 percent of the time it clears the problem.
Fun job but the moment its changed off it goes many times i dont even touch the toner supply pipe as the new pump is whats really needed.

You might try to replace the black developer unit first. It's way easier and I've had some fail prematurely giving the same message.

Indeed that pump is a joy to change. As was mentioned pull the developer and try turning it, also make sure the little door is opening. Then when you have eliminated all else, change the pump

Yeah dont change the pump unless you have to!

I have known some engineers change a dev unit in a printer and it not to call for toner for a few hundred copies even more if low k coverage so give a good test and inspection before closing call.

Ya just gotta LOVE that toner delivery and waste system on the 3800C. Good for keeping you out of the office for a whole day!
