    Ricoh Aficio 350

What would cause a 1/8th of an inch line to travel side to side(front to back) on the copy? The line is partially black but not solid black and the other part is blank. This is an example of what is happening. Say I have the word "The" in the area this line is. Well the "T" and the "h" would show up but the "e" wouldn't until the end of the line. It is like the image is being pushed away from where it should be leaving a blank area. Thank you for any help given.

And I thought I was the only one with a few of these left in the field.

It's difficult to say exactly without seeing an example, but with the age of this thing, you've got to start considering things like drum/dev drive etc.

These machines are all knackered by now. I find that its not only drum dev, etc, but everywhere there is a sponge or rubber seal on the dev unit or PCU it has turned to goo, mush, you get my drift. Messy and impractical to replace everything. If I understand the OPs' queiry right sounds like there's a gear with a missing or worn tooth somewhere on the pcu or drum or on the drive.
