    LCD black

I have a Ricoh MP C4500 that comes to a ready state, but has no display under the touchscreen. The start button and the function selection buttons are lit, but the touchscreen is not blank. I have swapped user panel, IOB, and BCU with no luck.

Faulty polygon motor, you will need to replace the BICU as well. Replacing just the motor will not cure the problem, and replacing just the BICU will damage it.

      Agreed!
You may want to take another BICU with you, just in case it's been cooked again by the defective polygon

agreed.. i used my flashlight to to find out anything i the screen and i can see error SC202 and its polygon motor, replaced the whole scanner laser unit (used one) and power up still the same problem, so i replaced the BICU board (from old machine) and make sure you follow the procedure in replacing the board and also input the serial number of the machine in SP mode. then restart the machine and its working fine..

Excellent! Now wouldn't it be special if the poster would provide a little feedback, or (heaven forbid) appreciation for the advice?

                  hello,
you need to change BICU and polygon motor at a time.
                  luck!

Best way to do yes, do first the polygon motor because if polygon motor is already bad it could damage your BICU and was thinking that bad polygon causes the BICU to break and causes the LCD to turn black.
Make sure replace polygon motor first or the laser unit then the BICU..
