[Misc] Ricoh Aficio MP 4000B Printing Issue

    Hi All,

I have an issue which I am unable to resolve, In my office I have two Ricoh printers, a MP 4000B and a MP C4000. Both printer reside on a print server. I have a group of users which when printing to the 4000B and select single sided printing, it prints double sided, and when seelcting double sided, it sometime prints single sided. The only time it appears to work correctly is if they print twice to the C4000 printer first. All users have got the lates printer drivers which were recommended by a Ricoh Engineer. Is there anything you can think of for me to try?

First set up a laptop on a direct connection and see if it does the same. If not, there's something odd on the driver settings either on the server or the terminals.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Also check the settings on the application you are using.

        Sorry Guys,

What I failed to mentioned above, out of the group of 5 users, it works as it should for one! All five machines have all the same drivers and all the same other printers attached to their systems. But it only work correctly for one user?

Have you tried a connection from a laptop?

Sorry if this is a waste of time, but have you explored "User Tools" for a solution for this? I only say this because based on the information given it kind of sounds like this might be caused by an Energy Star setting, and you should be able to find and turn off the offending setting there.
Also, might not hurt to look at the settings from the one person that has this working properly and see if their settings could help everybody else, if you can.
            Hope that helps.

What version server are they using? I had an issue with MS 2008 R2 Server for some users would print in color even though they specified black and white in the preferences in the print driver. The only way I got it to work was to install an old driver directly on their machine. Have you tried different drivers to see what happens?

Thank you all for the advice, this has now been resolved and WAS caused by the Energy Star setting.

Once again, Thank you for saving me a lot of time and trouble.

Did you change both Printing Defaults and Preferences to both black and white? Some applications pick up preferences, while others pick up Printing Defaults. (Printing Defaults is under Advanced).
