    mpc2050 noise

    hi
i have a Ricoh mpc2050 using heavy A3 paper on tray 2, and makes very noise, also when paper outs from friction pad, still more noise. I will try replace frictin pad and spring, but any other idea?
    thanks

Even you replace the Friction pad and feed roller,it will be the same. You can eliminate the sound if you hold the tray while the machine is copying. So what we are doing we put a thick sticker under the tray(right side).

There is a bulletin out on noise from the PCU's, which have been modified.

There is a modified friction pad out for he trays which changes the urethane for cork.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

Do you have a part number for this? Thanks. The cork pads don't make that rubbing noise like the plastic ones.

            Hi there!
Very interesting. In germany we'll only get the"greased" urethane-pads which are really crap, cause after ca. 20K prints there gone, producing jams.
            Greetings...

I've posted on this before, the new pads don't fix the problem.

remove the tray and look at the black plastic roller at the front of the tray runner in the machine.

Turn the roller, if there is a flat groove cut into the surface, that's the problem. When you push the tray in the roller rotates to the flat and then stops. This drops the corner of the tray and causes vibration.

You will have to replace the whole runner, but the fault will eventually return when the new roller wears out!

Thanks for the part numbers. I assume this fix can also be applied to other Ricoh copiers with the same feed system?

specific to the mp c2030/ 2050 and I assume later variants.

hi, im having similar problem with a 'groaning' noise coming from the tray but its only on tray 3, ive had a look at tray 2 and i can see the wear marks on the black roller as mentioned but tray 3 doesnt look no where near as bad plus it is completely differnt shape to trays 1+2 would the solution be the same with swapping the rail? Thanks
