Ricoh 3010...SC322 Laser sync error

Hello I have been helping another tech work on a Ricoh 3010 with an SC322 error.
So far I have replaced the laser assy. with a working pull from another machine.
And that assy. is also giving us SC322 errors. I have checked connections for proper seating.

According to the service manual I'm using, it mentions the LD Unit (assy.) as a possible issue, but
having replaced that and still getting the same error I have to assume the problem lies elsewhere.

It's hard for me to imagine that the main board is bad, the rest of the machine works just fine.

Any ideas?

Jeff, check the door switches - corrosion or arcing will cause it also. Good luck!

Does this machine have a separate laser sync detection pwb? I know a lot of ricoh machines do. Check the sync detection sensor and clean or replace it.
