I have a Ricoh MP2851, that we needed to upgrade the firmware on. After doing so the machine gave us SC670. Tried unplugging HDD etc. We spoke to Ricoh Tech support who said to replace the NVRAM chips. We have done so, and we still have the issue. The are now saying replace the BCU, and then the controller if that doesn't work. Is there anything else I should be looking at, before going down this route. Thanks in advance

Re: SC670 After Firmware upgrade
If you pull the controller and set dip switch 1 to OFF, the machine will boot from the SD card. Put the system / copy and engine firmware on the card and get the machine to try and boot from it, hopefully that should sort you out. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Re: SC670 After Firmware upgrade
When replacing the NVRAM, you should first backup the old NVRAM contents to an SD-Card (if possible). Replace the NVRAM, then do a Memory All Clear (SP5-801-001) and then reload the NVRAM Settings from the SD-Card to the new NVRAM.Comment

Re: SC670 After Firmware upgrade
Disconnect the hard disk and see if the code disappears. If not, put the old nvrams back in and try the same SD card boot trick again. If not, it sounds more like either the controller has had it or the BICU nvram has also failed, possibly due to a corrupt firmware file. It's 106 miles to Chicago.
