my machine tells me the code 990 when iam copying on it i know what tells to that the software attemped to perform an unexpected operation but iwant to know how i can repair it
other problem is
the language of the sp mode is japaneese i want to return it to english
other question
i want to know how to make a software to it and if u could give it to me

This is the SM explanation about this sc. Check for an error in the same time and meter becouse that would be probably the original problem. You may need to update the firmware.
SC990 is a software error, there's nothing you can do but turn the equipment off and on.

Yes, 990 can mean alot of things, including a hard drive.Check the SP history to see what else is happening. Easy to check the HD just unplug it and see if the error goes away. The machine will run without the HD but with reduced functionality.

Most SC 990 indications on this model are caused by either a dirty image density sensor (right side, open duplex and vertical transport to see it) or a failed hard drive. I always would clean the sensor first, then try disconnecting the hard drive to see if the machine would run. If the machine runs without throwing codes, then one can replace the hard drive with confidence that the issue will be cured. Almost any ide or eide drive will work.
