MPC6500 poor CQ, good engine prints.

Have an MPC6500, just changed all 4 devs. Dev fill successful, TD init successful. When I run a test chart, it comes out great, looks solid, no issues. However when I run a copy of that test chart that just printed it will come out subpar. Black looks brownish, RGB looks washed out / overexposed.

Firmware is fully updated, and the optics cleaned. Now I am stuck with where to be going next. Will attempt TB35 in the AM, just not sure it would apply due to CMY look solid on copies and prints, mostly just the K and RGB I am worried about. Any tips?

    Thanks!

Yep, ran color registration, and then ACC. Passes ACC on all settings. When scanning to email, the scans look fine that way. So I would think the CCD would be functioning properly. The quality became much worse throughout the course of today. Just got back to the account now, about 20 hours later.

Until somebody who knows better comes around, you might try adjusting the "manual gamma" adjustments in the scanner portion of service mode. The default value is 15, I find that changing the value of the offending colors to 17 usually does the trick.

First of all, copying the test charts that come out of a Konica and expecting them to look half decent has NEVER worked. I would expect it to be the same on a Lanier. Get a magazine to copy or something. But I'll try it on our color Lanier at the office.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.
