3245 thin lines in magenta and cyan.

Replaced drums and developers. Comes and goes. Thinking HVT, but that is a stretch.
    Anybody seen this?cyan.jpggreen.jpgMagenta.jpg

Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

They look like transfer belt lines. Check and see if they line up with the transfer and if near threshold, replace it. Be sure to clean all of the rollers and replace the cleaning blade as well.

Checked transfer belt and drive. If it were transfer belt, wouldn't it do it on all colors not just 2?

        Vacumed out waste toner augers.
Cyan stopped, but magenta still doing same thing.

        Has nobody seen this?

You may be on the right track with the waste toner. The augers break and the toner could be backing up into the unit. Did the lines start with the new units or did you change them because of the lines.

the lines are all different pattern lines, they don't line up to each other.
I would check the charge rollers try switching the drums with lines to a drum that doesn't give lines before you do any other checks. I can't see yellow lines so that's the good one if you switch it with magenta drum and you don't get the magenta line then you have a drum issue.
Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.

Lines are from front to rear, not lead to trail.
Changed drum and developers because of the lines.
Turn machine off and on and lines disappear for 2 copies and then come back, that is why I was thinking augers.
              This has me stumped.
I don't want to just start throwing boards at it, I am just a little guy tying to make a living.

Check the power supply in the back of the machine, bottom right board. Had a similar problem and found C, M, and Y connectors uplugged. Took me 2 days and several manhours to find. Good Luck.

If the lines are going in the main scan direction (front to rear) then I would initially suspect those as chatter marks. Have you checked the drive gears for wear? Better yet, do you have another mfp you can swap the itb unit with to see if the problem goes with it or eliminates it as the culprit?

Unplugged and plugged in all connectors on HVT.
Cleaned the shafts on the dv clutches, (kinda gunked).
                    Doing better, but now intermittent.
Found in the manual,(thanks Paul) that color motor drives registration.
                    Digging into that drive Monday.

                    Thanks for the further input.

Replaced color motor and Registration clutch.
                      Finally fixed!
