[Error Code] Ricoh MP C4500 Service Call Error

    Hi There,

I was wondering if someone could help me get my machine working again. The error I am getting is SC820 Self Check Diagnostics Error Code 4002.
According to the service manual it could be a defective control board or a firmware issue.

I would like to try and reinstall the firmware before I figure out what to do next however I do not have access to Tessa as I am not trained and do not work for a certified company.
If someone would in the first place be willing to supply me with the Controller Firmware I would be most grateful.

    Best Regards,
    Aleksander

Does the machine have a finisher?
Try it with finisher disconnected. It could very well be the Finisher Main board

Yes it does but I already tried that :/. Also tried letting it sit without power for an hour.

I have the firmware, but it isn't free. If you're interested in paying for it, email me at paul@justmanuals.com

Does this thing have a fax kit installed? If so, pull the MBU and see if the code disappears. If it does, it could be the MBU battery is dead or the board itself is faulty.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          Hit it.

As with all previous suggestions try leaving the base engine completely alone (no DF, Fax, Stand, Finisher, etc.). If it doesn't go away and it's not firmware it may be the controller for sure. I recall seeing and old Ricoh bulletin stating this...
            Good luck!

Check the serial number on this Tech bulletin, sounds like a controller board to me.
