    MP 2852 light copy

Drum, developer only had 2K used. Black density seem OK but copy is light look. machine not connect to print . The strange thing is copies look good before I pulled PCU out to check interior after PCU pulled out, copies density changed to 1/2 lighter. Re inserted PCU several times no help. Copier only had 20K used, this is 2nd PCU put in to fixed light copies.

Do you mean internal prints (ie: counter sheet) are ok?
You made no mention of cleaning the optics, and the white plate under the left scale

optic and white plate cleaned, internal print also light, no sc codes, copies start to get weaker density because no toner add, forced toner motor ran fine.just not adding toner.Vsg about 4v, vsp about under .5v

When you say you replaced the PCU did you put a type 1027 in or just replace the opc dev ect? either way you need to initialize the Dev after replacing them it doesn't do it automatically like the 1027 machine did.

I used AF.1027 pcu. Ofcourse I used SP 2801 to initial the developer. It run good for several days about 2 weeks later I come back for jamming, before I removed the PCU I check the density was normal dark and look good. After I fixed the first paper feed assembly, I put pcu back and get surprised on copies get much lighter than before, then It did not add any more toner, I feel something wrong with Bias or the pcu connector. I checked toner motor was running with sp test mode. Man what a crazy machine I worked on.

If you still have the original PCU I'd rebuild it with drum and developer then try that. I can't see any other reason for this machine refusing to add toner into a 1027 PCU unless it can't understand the signals coming from the TD sensor to tell it that it's low on toner. Are you getting readings from the TD sensor?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                Hit it.
