    C2051 error E40

Technician had the wrong firmware (c2050)on a card and it has killed this machine. I tried to revive it with the 2051 firmware but it hangs until it errors out with the E40. I replaced the BCU with another one and it is the same. Tried again to reload the firmware and still the same.
Will a full CRAM do anything about this?
    Any ideas?

Dip switch 1 on the controller to on with system / copy and engine firmware on SD card should force a boot which overwrites the current installed firmware. I can't remember off the top of my head what E40 is, but I think it's firmware installation interrupted.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

E40 is firmware update error. I tried your suggestion and no joy. Board repair people tell me to replace the ADF board.
      I can do that.

There may be something in factory SP but I can't be certain, partly because I've been drinking but mostly because I'm shit.

Have you tried the firmware recover (clr 1 4 3 stp stp stp power off) then reloading the correct firmware?

Nope, but I will. Is that holding the last stp for a certain time.?
                  Thanks

I put the fw card in the machine, turned it on and ran that sequence, then turned it off, it didnt code out but just stayed on "Please Wait" I left it overnight and this am it was the same.

Edit: I took the card out and restarted it and it stays in "Please Wait" At least is doesnt code out.
I dont know what that 143 was supposed to do but I am expecting a new DF board to come in today and I'll try that. according to the board repair people the machine cant get past the fw loading sequence and that is why it is hanging up. Looks like that 143 sequence should have gotten past that. I dont know.

                        Hi there!
For me, your last message sounds like a "dead" controller-board. Had an identical issue with bw-ricoh, after changing the controller it was running again.
                        Greetings...
