Ricoh MP C2051 Toner Add Error

Hi All,

after changing the black drum and development unit this add toner error started popping up even if the toner bottle is new.
Also after sometime SC360 started showing up.
I don't know anything in this machine, but can anyone atleast give me an idea on what is happening to my machine.

Check the drive gears both on the PCU/DEV unit and at the back of the machine. I've had worn DEV drive gears cause this.

It could be possible you bent a pin on the TD sensor connector when swapping it over onto the new dev unit, done that myself before.

sounds a lot like a c410/411 printer when the customer lets the toner run out and doesnt replace it and by the time the toner is replaced, the developement unit has no toner in it so it throws that code. in that case i had to do a forced toner once or twice in order to get enough toner in the dev unit to stop that code. in your case, if that doesnt help, i would look into the toner pump itself...

I don't really know, but it seems that the machine is not loading toner from the bottle to the developer.
Because if you open the toner door and close it right away it will supply toner to the drum then it will be able to print after sometime that it runs out of toner again.

Lets start from the beginning. Check to see if your toner bottle is turning, if it is, then next vac out the black and yellow toner pump and swap them over (can't remember if they're the same or not) replace as needed. Also vac out round the back of the machine where the pump tubes connect. Next check all the drive, swap them over to be sure. Try another DEV unit. After that it's all obscure stuff.

Hello, Please check the TD Sensor Connection for BK Bevelopment Unit, May be connector is loose or connector pin broken.

Yes tried taking out the connector from the old drum/dev kit.
Seemed to worked for a few hours but the add toner message came back.
I am hesitant to tinker even more with the machine because I might cause more damage than what it is now.

Actually the technician just came today. And after some testing, we did exchange the old TD sensor to the new dev unit. Tried manually adding the toner.
But the prints came greyish so he came to the conclusion that the pump was not supplying the toner to the dev unit.
I am in no point to argue with him cause I don't know anything about how the machine works, but I don't think it is right to just jump on the conclusion that the pump was broken and decided to change right away or I am just ignorant when it comes to this machine.
