[Misc] Ricoh Aficio MP5002 PCL6 One click presets

Hello everyone,
I work at a school with about 7 copiers that i manage using a print server. Teachers purchase their own paper and we need to be able to use the store print feature to keep things organized.

Right now, if they print, the default setting goes to an unregistered preset that will store print and do double sided. If they change their printing preferences from their workstation, it switches back to Normal Print. So, I created a handful of one-click presets on my print server, But they do not apply to their workstations through group policy.

Is there an easier way to do this?

From your description it sound like you have downloaded the driver, created a print queue on the server using the downloaded driver then set the printing preferences to stored print.

To create a new printer object that by default always uses stored print irrespective of other changes to the user preferences download a new copy of the driver and modify it using Ricoh's Print Driver Editor.
Save the modified driver file, uninstall the previously created queue, driver and driver installation package. (Modified drivers and unmodified cannot co-exist and work correctly.) Create a new printer as usual, this time using the modified driver file.

If the print clients connecting to the share on the server require additional drivers make sure you modify this driver too.

While the driver editor may not yet support the MP5002, it does support the Universal driver. so you could use that instead.

Thank you, I was able to use that to change the default setting to stored print. I originally went onto my print server and created 4 customized one-click presets in hopes that they would apply to make it easier for users to switch between normal print, stored print, etc.

The users are clicking on different presets and not re-choosing store print which was creating the problems i was having. I will have to manually create one click presets for the handful of users that want to use Normal Print.
