I searched the forums first, but didn't find a clear cut answer to my quandary. I just purchased a 3rd hand Ricoh 3260C with a Fiery S400 box running Fiery system 7 (though the config page says "E-8000" instead of E-7000.) I've got the Fiery Server on the local network. I am 100% Mac, running OS 10.7, 10.8 and 10.5. I can access the web interface on all, but when I 'upload' any file, they do nothing. On the job log print out, they report as "Error". I have installed CWS 5.3 and 5.4 (one at a time) on OS 10.7 (intel) and 10.5 (ppc). I can search for and find the server "EIERVRIP" but when I try to connect (either OS) to it I get a message that says the IP Address or Server Name is incorrect. I also get a similar message when I try to add it as a printer (on either OS). I tried adding it as a Windows printer, it found the workgroup, I selected it and then it prompts me for Name and Password. I tried "Administrator" and "Fiery.1" but that doesn't work.
Needing some IT help or a workaround for this.
I am going to borrow a PC with XP tonight and install CWS on it to see if it makes any difference. I would be surprised, but slightly delighted, if it works.
Thanks for any and all help.
**Added** I also can use Filezilla to connect to the Fiery Server via FTP. I can add files to the "hold" and "print" folders (queue's). They disappear as soon as they finish copying. I printed the job log and they read "Error".
