    [Error Code] Ricoh Pro907EX SC990

I have 2 Ricoh Pro907Ex machines with SC990 intermittently, but, regular and very often. Our primary tech had formatted the hard drives, updated firmware, and replaced the ADF main pcb and harness from ADF to machine. The ADF is a focus because the details of the 990 code on the SMC report 7990-01 show "ENGocFeedUnit". No value or any other info on the code. The customer primarily scans all day long, so any scan job or copy job using ADF will give the code.
    Any new ideas?

    Hello

I had an issue with 990 being thrown up when using the interposer, this was size related ie wrong paper size in the feeder as opposed to what it was set at, but before it threw the 990 it just stalled and did not throw a jam as you would expect.

still running test...but good for a week so far with no SC990. Also, keep in mind that my machine had this intermittent but fairly regular and would hit in bunches and then be fine for a few hours to a few days. Since my machine showed the same detail for SC990 each and every time we arrived at some rollers causing the issue (not 100% verified yet). First, look for SC990 details in SP 7990, if they show " File Na ENGocFeedUnit" we focused on something within the ADF. We started running different sizes and directions and saw the idle rollers (not the drive rollers attached to the clutch) in the turn guide for the ADF are responsible for length detection via a pulse generator disc. We at first saw during testing that sometimes the machine would read 8.5 x 10 or 8.5 x 5.5, even though we were always running 8.5 x 11 in different directions. Naturally we swapped out the sensor first, but still got the SC990. Then by turning the idle rollers by hand we felt that sometimes those rollers would get stuck. If those rollers don't turn, length detection gets "confused" and if this happens during the process, that confusion could result in the communication between ADF and machine to be confused and possibly cause SC990. We took apart the roller assy. and cleaned everything and it has been working ever since. We ordered and will replace the assy as soon as it come in, but, it looks like this is the fix...go figure. I would order 1 bushing A6801661, 1 roller assy B3011191, 2 springs B3014211, 1 pulse generator gear w/shaft B3011195, and 1 sensor AW020141. Also, on a side note, on any other machine with SC990 while running the ADF and having SC details in SP 7990 showing something regarding Doc Feed Unit, I would look for any mechanics or sensor responsible for original length detection and start there.

ADF idle roller theory as described in above post is confirmed. 2 machines with SC990 have been repaired and no SC990 codes for almost 3 weeks.
