    Ricoh MP 301SPF: Tray Switching

    Ricoh,

    My configuration is as follows:

    Tray 1: Yellow Paper
    Tray 2: White Paper

    A) I want the Printer & Copier to ONLY print using from Tray 2 even if Tray 2 runs out of paper completely.
    B) I want the Fax to ONLY print from Tray 1 even if Tray 1 runs out of paper completely.

    From the SAVIN MP 301 Web Interface I've:

    A) Device Settings --> System

    Paper Tray Priority
    Copier = Tray 2
    Fax = Tray 1
    Printer = Tray 2

    B) Printer
    Tray Setting Priority
    Bypass = Machine Settings
    Tray 1 = Machine Settings
    Tray 2 = Machine Settings
    Tray Switching = Off
    Extended Tray Switching = Off

    Right now everything works fine (the printer / copier pull from the correct trays) when both have paper. But, when Tray 2 runs out it defaults to tray 1.

    Is there anything else I need to do to achieve my setup?

    Best,

    Justin

    You need to turn Auto Paper select off for both trays.
    user tools
    system settings
    paper tray settings.
    then page 2 I think.
    then turn off.

    Hope this helps.

      If you turn off auto tray select for both trays and you select auto tray select from the source in your print driver the copier will throw an error. Best to disable auto paper select for the fax tray only.
