Does anyone know how to automatically add a 9 to every outgoing fax. It would be on mpc5000, mp5000, and a mpc2550.

Re: pre fix for fax out
I was trying to find that yesterday on a 2550 and couldn't work it out. I ended up putting the 0 in the number in the address book for each destination. Not ideal as the address book was already established but it worked. Hopefully someone else has some insight to an easier way. -
Re: pre fix for fax out
Hello and good day! You will have to manually put a 9 in front of every fax going out. One way around it is too create a user box with the 9 and then the #. That way all you would have to do is hit that box on the fax screen and press start. I believe that it can hold 200 phone numbers. Hope this helps!!But I cleaned the scan glass.......Comment

or you could get the telephone tech to remove the dial 9 from the line or have a direct line out.Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.Comment

Re: pre fix for fax out
Even if you can add the "9" automatically, I highly recommend against it.
"Why?". you ask?
At least in the US, most faxes are long distance, and normally require a "1" to be dialed before the are code and number.
If someone were to accidentally hit the "1" twice, the machine would dial "9-1-1", the rest of the number would be ignored, and emergency crews promptly dispatched.
I actually had that happen with a Canon machine some years back. Needless to say, we disabled the "9".
Best to stick with Knightfall's suggestion and get the machine a direct line.“I think you should treat good friends like a fine wine. That’s why I keep mine locked up in the basement.” - Tim HawkinsComment
