    no sp mode in ricoh 3235c

    there is an error code sp542 in ricoh 3235c when i tried to enter sp mode as usual c-107 long red key
    it gives a peep and no sp mode , service manual says it might be the BCU , CAN I replace it from another
    machine , i do not have an SD card to copy data , so can you what to do , thanks

      See if service mode lock is enabled in administrator tools. I'm willing to bet it is.

          Did you try simply rebooting the system? I have one that behaves this way every time I'm there, and I can't get into user tools either. I simply reboot the system and SP mode /user tools are accessible. The machine works like a dream otherwise.

              Kind of sounds like not just an SC code, but a software loop. Try going through each function: Copy, Document Server, Printer, Scanner, Fax if it's there, and hold down the Clear Modes and Stop keys for a few seconds. When you find the process causing the loop you'll hear the machine sound like the lasers are getting ready and the fans will start going. With the 542, that may not all happen but after going through each one try going into SP Mode: it always worked on the 345c and 232c family machines.

                  yes it is true i found that service mode locked in administrator tools so thanks deeply to you
