    [Jamming] MP8001 jam 132 and SC742 SR4040

    Hi.

    I have a problem with Jam 132 in the SR4040 finisher on a MP8001.

It records a jam 132 every time i try to use the stapler, and sometimes it generates an SC742.

I have changed the stepmotor moving the stapler unit, the home position sensor, both the PCB's and the firmware, with no luck...

my friend, encountered this before and it is really tricky but i was able to solve the problem by replacing the harness of the stapler unit. we replaced the stapler unit, control board for the finisher, sensors, and motors, still the same. or before replacing the harness check the continutiy of each wire.
    Nobody is perfect..

Yeah as said above, the staple harness is extremely common on these to fail, it will resolve your problem for sure...

It should. I don't understand why these staple harnesses are so unbelievably shit.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          Hit it.

There is chance the exit shutter motor not working properly. after stapling the first fineshed job will exit with out any problem. there is a one way bearing gear has to replace for this problem. pls try.

It did not help to change the harness :-(

I get jam no. 100, which means "Jam in 132, Stapler Shift Motor" There is no mentioning of such a motor in the service manual or the parts manual, what motor is this? Is it the motor rotating the staple head for 45 degree vs 90 degree staples?

If i push the staple head all the way to the back of the finisher, and closes the door, it starts moving to the front, and just before it reaches the front, it goes in jam and log a jam at sensor 132 stapler shift motor.
