    sc 899 mpc 4502

    I have replaced the controller pcb all firmware reformatted the hdd and still have this problem.Can anyone think of anything else i've missed? thanks for any help given.

    9 times out of 10 this is a 'supposedly' corrupt print job. Have you booted the machine without the network cable in and have you deleted all jobs from the print que?

      Thanks, it ended up a corrupt print job. after pulling my hair out.

        If you haven't updated the firmware already, make it a point to do it on the next call. There is an update for this fault and it is caused (apparently) by certain types of true type fonts. That though, I don't believe for a second. It's probably a writing glitch caused by the same idiot who wrote the firmware that makes the SPC320DN code with SC543 when someone opens the paper tray. Muppets.

          I've had a few SC899 printing issues on a couple of different Ricoh models. (MP C2051 / MPC 400).

          Some models do already have printer firmware updates that fix some occurrences of SC899.

          But in one case I had to take a network capture of the problematic print job with Wireshark and submit it to Ricoh support.
          Using that capture they managed to recreate and confirm the problem for that model and escalated the matter.
          A few weeks later they came back with a new printer firmware version for me to try.
