Replaced a few sep pads on the DF, they don't appear to last very long.
I agree that the front cover is flimsy, seems to be the way things are going though.
Of course the sales guy's plug the ECO friendly plastics angle if anyone picks up on it.

I agree with the misgivings regarding the df, as I have also seen friction pads wear to the point of failure, where any 201 would have smiled. I dare say that the whole df design smells of SAMSUNG. We do sell some Samsung models out this way, and the similarity is uncanny.
I have also had the unhappy job of a LSU replacement - what a b with an itch! Nevermind the fact that there is no space for non-Oriental hands to fit, the distance to the LSU screws is too far for a dumpy and to short for a standard screwdriver....
And then there are those lovely mylars that sit over the screws themselves!
For those interested, below is a photo of the new polygon mirror motor as used in the MP301 - tiny piece of c$%$p!
This post is very timely for me as I am proposing one soon. Could you expand on the iphone+ display? And does that require the HDD? I have a customer who wants to print from phones and tablets.
I see there is an app out that lets you print from your ipad and iPhone. Think its called Smart Device Printer. Lets you print to a PostScript 3 Ricoh on your network.

You can print to any device if a server/computer on the same network as the iPhone or iPad is running AirPrint, including Windows servers. Also, no additional applications are needed for very basic printing.
