    Ricoh Aficio 1224C Toner problem

    Hi all,

we have a Ricoh Aficio 1224C printer.

Today we had the message "Change Magenta Toner", so I changed it, and restarted the printer. While restarting it, there was the usual message, "refilling the magenta toner".

We made some test prints and all was ok...

Now the printer shows the same error message again: "Change Magenta Toner"...

Can somebody please help me? -What to do?

    Thank you

    Magenta toner

    Hi,

First, is is original ricoh toner because these toner's work off a chip (had a few non oe toner faulty because of this) and secondly is it a new toner as this machine works on pixel count not what it can see in the toner cartridge so if its an old unit and feels like it has toner dont think it will work - rubbish idea by ricoh! Easiest thing to do is replace the magenta toner cartidge with a new one as by the sounds of it your not a technical engineer just the end user.

      Hello,

      thank you for the reply.

yes it is a completely new and original Ricoh toner with a chip on the rear side.

So you think its the best thing to replace the Magenta again?

Is there no way to get into a special menu and say to the printer that it is replaced etc...?

Yes, I am not a tech...

      Regards

OK, there is a way to force add toner, but it is a techincal service mode that I could not tell you because you may damage the machine, I think you put in the toner bottle, but you didn´t agitate several times in order to loosen toner in the bottle and it may have damaged the gears in the development unit, so I think you´ll have to call in a Tech to help you before you overflow the unit with Magenta toner.

          Sorry,

I don't offer technical help to non techs - all of your posts have been for free help and service manuals of which you have no training on! End users can do 3 things and they are fill the trays with paper, remove paper jams and fit toner anything else GET SOMEONE IN WHO IS TRAINED ON THEM AND PAY THEM!!!!!

              Hello

I thing the Toner Cartridge is defect, the maschine don't cancel the copies you made after the last change, but the technician can cancel the counter with no problems
